Environment Day– 2023.

World
Environment Day (WED) on 5 June is the biggest international day for the
environment. Led by the United Nations Environment Programme (UNEP) and held annually since 1974, the event has grown to be
the largest global platform for environmental outreach, with millions of people
from across the world engaging to protect the planet. The Observance of this day
provides us with an opportunity to broaden the basis for an enlightened opinion
and responsible conduct by individuals, enterprises, and communities in
preserving and enhancing the environment. It is said that WED is the
"people's day" for doing something to take care of the Earth. This
year's theme will focus on solutions to plastic pollution under the
campaign #BeatPlasticPollution. It is a reminder that people’s actions on
plastic pollution matter.
World Environment Day is a global platform for inspiring
positive change. With over 150 countries participating, this UN international
day engages governments, businesses, civil society, schools, celebrities,
cities and communities, raising awareness and celebrating environmental action.
To support the UN and celebrate WED in a
most befitting manner the Green Triangle Society is Observing World Environment
Day on Saturday, 3rd June 2023 by conducting a Workshop on the WED
Theme ‘ Beat Plastic Pollution’
at Jai Kisaan Bhawan Auditorium, Paradeep Phosphates Limited, (
formerly known as Zuari Agro Chemicals Ltd), Jai Kisaan Bhawan, Zuarinagar, Goa
– 403726 at 3.00 pm to 5.15 pm. Dr. Pradeep Kumar Sow, Assistant Professor of Chemical
Engineering at BITS-Pilani Goa Campus will speak on the WED theme ‘Beat Plastic Pollution
