We are pleased to inform you that the 18^th  Annual National Conference on OSHE, with the theme  ‘OSHE Rejuvenation for Post Covid Recuperation’is being held on Saturday,  12^th   December 2020, 9.00 am to 1 pm through virtual mode.

 

You will agree with us that the novel COVID -19 or Coronavirus diseases have affected most people worldwide.  While scientists are working steadfastly to discover a vaccine, until then, people must strictly follow safety measures to protect themselves and their loved ones. In the present scenario, we must be more cautioned and leave no stone unturned when it comes to securing our future. In a situation when there are uncertainties and possible health risks during current times if we organize a conference of great magnitude in physical form then there could be possible of spreading the virus if anyone with positive signs attends the physical conference.

 

In view of the above, the organizers have planned the 18^th National Conference on Occupational Safety, Health, and Environment through virtual mode and is scheduled for Saturday 12^th December 2020, from  9 am to 1.00 pm

The COVID-19 pandemic has brought in a lot of challenges, few are obvious and few are subtle. One of them has been in managing safe processes, especially in chemical industries. This webinar is focused around incidents that occurred during the pandemic situation and the learning’s from these incidents.

FACULTY

 

Rahul Raman is Principal Engineer at Kaypear where he provides PSM consulting services to the Oil and Gas, Pharmaceutical, and Petrochemical industries. He provides technical stewardship in PSM implementation and works as an embedded subject matter expert for the pressure relief system. In addition, he is the instructor for the AIChE DiERS course on Emergency Relief System. He has actively participated and contributed in the Design Institute for Emergency Relief System (DIERS) and API Sub-Committee for Pressure Relieving Systems. He published a white paper on Styrene Leak at Vizag and contributed to the High Power Committee investigating LG Polymers. He completed his Master of Chemical Engineering degree from Carnegie Mellon University and obtained a Bachelor of Technology in Chemical Engineering from Anna University.

 

Geetali Thakur is a Chemical engineer, Gold medallist, University Topper with Advanced Diploma in Industrial Safety with MBA in Operations. She is also the first Indian woman to be qualified as Licentiate Faculty from the British Occupational Hygiene Society, UK.

 

She works as Head – HSE for Deccan Fine Chemicals, Goa and has 18+ years chemical process industry experience including 10+ years in Health, Safety, and Environment (HSE) and plant operations. Her major part of the experience is in bulk manufacturing, which included working on 500+ HAZOP studies on complex chemistries and Occupational hygiene assessments.

 

She is on board of reputed industry forums including Green Triangle Society, Indian Chemical Council and on EHS Taskforce of Confederation of Indian Industries. She has been an active speaker at National and International forums on various EHS topics.
