 Green Triangle Society is organizing a ONE-DAY TRAINING PROGRAM ON “Testing and Examination of Lifting Machines, Tools/Tackles, and Pressure Vessels”   on Saturday  30^th November 2019,55  Terminal Banquets, 4^th Floor, Caculo Mall, Panaji –Goa. In this connection, I am enclosing herewith a brochure containing the details of the Training Program.

World Environment Day(WED) is the United Nations day for encouraging worldwide awareness and action to protect our environment. The celebration of this day provides us with an opportunity to broaden the basis for an enlightened opinion and responsible conduct by individuals, enterprises, and communities in preserving and enhancing the environment.  It is said that WED is the "people's day" for doing something to take care of the Earth. This year’s theme is on air pollution, (#Beat Air pollution) a call to action to combat one of the greatest environmental challenges of our time, chosen by this year’s host, China.

 World Environment Day is the biggest annual event for positive environmental action and takes place every 5 June. To support UN and celebrate WED in a most befitting manner the Green Triangle Society in association with Rotary Club of Panaji is celebrating  World Environment Day on 7th  June 2019 by conducting a “Seminar on Beat Air Pollution”. This workshop will commence at 3.30  pm at 5^th  Floor, Nalanda Hall, EDC House Panaji Goa.

Shri Ganesh B. Shetgaonkar, Chairman, Goa State Pollution Control Board will be the Keynote speaker and other eminent speaker will be Smt. Geetali Thakur who will speak on Control on Workplace exposure to control Environment Air Pollution..

PROGRAMME PERSPECTIVE:

Lifestyle diseases such as cancer, diabetes, cardiovascular diseases, kidney ailments and hypertension are growing at an alarming rate among the Goan population. Not very long ago these diseases were considered to be phenomena prevalent in prosperous West. The incidence of these diseases in a developing state like Goa and a developing country India is rising because our lifestyle is changing for the worse.  The more a person earns, the less he spends on nutritious food, the less he works manually. Goans no more work hard to grow food in their fields; they buy food off supermarkets. They do not walk for long distances to reach their destination; they drive their automobiles to go wherever they want. There is need to do more physical work. Obesity was not a problem in Goa in the past.

The industrial workforce is no exception to this present day malaise of being the victims of lifestyle diseases. To ensure healthy workforce and thence the optimum industrial output it is pertinent to introduce work place interventions to prevent / control the ill effects of lifestyle diseases. The seminar is designed towards achieving this goal by engaging the renowned Occupational Health physicians / practicing specialists in the field and targeting the audience who would be responsible to implement such successful practices in their respective units.
