TWO TRG PROG Safety in Engineering Industry & Safety in Chemical Industries.

CIRCULAR

Sub: Safety Week Celebrations  - 2015

Sir/ Madam

Greetings

4th March is celebrated as the National Safety Day throughout the country.  This year also,  Green Triangle Society, in association with the Inspectorate of Factories & Boilers, Industrial Associations, NGOs in the State, annually organizes a Safety Week (4-10 March) during which various programmes are held in different industrial Estates to rededicate ourselves to the cause of Safety.

To commemorate this occasion, Green Triangle Society in association with Inspectorate of Factories & Boilers is organizing two training programmes namely Safety in Engineering Industry and Safety in Chemical Industries. This two training programs will be held on Saturday 7th March 2015 at A LUA Verna and will be one day duration (10 am to 5pm)

Safety in Chemical Industries
Chemicals have become an indispensable part of human life, sustaining activities and development, preventing and controlling many diseases, and increasing agricultural productivity. Despite their benefits, chemicals may, especially when misused, cause adverse effects on human health and environmental integrity. Widespread application of chemicals throughout the world increases the potential of adverse effects. Growth of chemical industries, both in developing and in developed countries, is predicted to increase. In this context, it is recognized that the assessment and management of risks from exposure to chemicals is among the highest priorities in pursuing the principles of sustainable development.
It is time that we deliberate on occupational health and safety in chemical industries in transitional economies because as new industries develop, existing industries expand, and new technology is introduced, the environment is increasingly placed at risk and hazards to human health arise.
Safety in Engineering Industries
India is one of the fast developing industrialized countries. Engineering Industry is an important sector of Indian economy. Apart from a significant contributor to GNP and Exports of the country, it also provides job opportunities to lakhs of workers. Over the years industrial Accidents in the Engineering Industry have affected many workers and their family members, who have suffered due to injuries or loss of life of their dear ones. Though the awareness of safety is increasing,, it is still not moving at the desired pace.
Use of modern technology for automation/ mechanization for improving quality and productivity has given rise to new hazards requiring different safety approach and techniques. A worker, being the mainstay of every manufacturing unit, is a crucial human resource whose well being is vital, not only for his family, but also for the Industry and the Nation.
It is time that we deliberate on occupational health and safety in engineering industries in transitional economies because as new industries develop, existing industries expand, and new technology is introduced, the environment is increasingly placed at risk and hazards to human health arise.

We sincerely request you to participate in the celebration by nominate at least one delegate per program.

Thanking you

Yours faithfully
